Abstract

Aims & Objectives: the objective of the study was to see the prevalence of malaria and type of malarial parasite in fluid affected areas of taluka mehrabpur.


Methodology: A cross sectional observational study was conducted from July 2022 to 09th September 2022 in flood affected areas of taluka Mehrabpur. Patients having symptoms like malaria were tested for malaria. Malarial Test was performed by consultant pathologist by using Malaria P.f /P.v Rapid Test kit having product number cassette: RAPG-MLR-004. The data was statistically evaluated by using SPSS 24 version software.


Results: shows demographic data of study subjects as well as prevalence of malaria in fluid affected areas of taluka mehrabpur, study subjects were categorized into age wise, gender wise & locality wise as well as type wise to see the prevalence in particular age, sex and locality & type of plasmodium. Age wise patients were divided in to nine groups, majority of the patients were belongs to11-20 years of age where as only one patient belongs to 71-80 years, out of 1250 827 patients were male where as only 22 patients were transgenders, 76.4% study subjects belongs to rural areas and 23.6% belongs to urban areas, total 1250 patients were tested for malaria among them 1037 patients were malaria positive and 213 patients were malaria negetative, out of 1037, majority of patients 937 were of plasmodium vivax only 100 patients were suffering from plasmodium falciperum.


Conclusion: This study concluded that out of 1250 patients 1037 patients were malaria positive. Out of 1037 study subjects 937 patients were suffering from plasmodium vivax and 100 patients were suffering from plasmodium falciperum. There was no any case of plasmodium falciperum was observed in transgenders.
