Abstract
As oncology moves toward more personalized and aggressive treatment modalities, the ethical complexities surrounding end-of-life (EOL) care have intensified. For terminal cancer patients, the boundary between life-prolonging intervention and "medical futility" is often blurred. Ensuring ethical care requires a delicate balance between clinical possibilities, legal frameworks, and the profound personal values of the patient.
Objective: This research examines the critical role of ethical frameworks—specifically autonomy, beneficence, and non-maleficence—in shaping the quality of care for cancer patients during their final stages of life. It further evaluates the impact of early palliative integration on the prevention of "moral distress" among healthcare providers and families.
