Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is the most prevalent type of musculoskeletal disorder affect quality of life among large numbers of individuals. (LBP) after (LLA) can occurs on various multi factor like prosthesis use, sedentary lifestyle, physical inactivity, psychological factor. To determine the prevalence of LBP and identify associated risk factors among unilateral and bilateral below-knee amputees in Karachi. A cross sectional study based on physical questionnaire. The aim was to investigate the prevalence and intensity of low back pain (LBP) in people with lower limb amputation (LLA). Physical questionnaire include six section, demographic information, comorbid conditions, history of LLA, history of LBP, and acceptance of the amputation.
the study was conducted in Jinnah post graduate medical center (jpmc), Dr. ruth k.pfau civil hospital diabetic foot center. Data collected by interview base questionnaire with participants base on unilateral and bi-lateral lower limb amputee atleast 1 one year before participation.
Chi-square tests will assess associations between categorical variables, using SPSS version 22.
This study will help to determine the factors which initiate the low back pain (LBP) in lower limb amputee (LLA) in Karachi. The result will help clinician and rehabilitation centers to improve patient’s quality of life.
