Abstract

Ascaris Lumbricoides seldom causes cholecystitis due to anatomical factors. Although it accounts for 2.1% of cases of hepatobiliary ascariasis. Patients typically present with nonspecific symptoms of abdominal discomfort, occasionally accompanied by fever, resembling cholecystitis. Ultrasonography (USG) aids in providing a conclusive diagnosis. We report a case of a 49-year-old female patient with gallbladder ascariasis who presented in ER with symptoms of fever, eye discolouration, and right hypochondrial pain over the last 4-5 days, got admitted, was put on conservative management for 5 days, called for follow up and significant improvement was observed both in labs & symptomatically.
