Abstract

Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) are a significant concern in intensive care units (ICUs), contributing to increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Common HAls in ICUs like Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) Associated with mechanical ventilation, Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs): Linked to urinary catheterization, Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIS): Related to central venous catheterization By understanding the risk factors and implementing effective prevention strategies, healthcare providers can reduce the incidence of HAls in ICU patients and improve patient outcomes.
